Book #24
And a Bottle of Rum: A History of the New World in Ten Cocktails
I am not particularly interested in rum, the word "history" in the title caught my eye, as it usually does, and consequently I read some fairly odd books. This one was more interesting than I expected, with some tidbits of information I hadn't considered before.

Book #18 and #19
I just finished Anchored in Love and when I marked "a biography" off my list I realized I hadn't blogged The Gospel Unplugged, so although I read it a couple months ago, it's just now appearing as #19.

Book #13
Up From Slavery
Booker T. Washington is so positive about the future in this book it's sad to think of how far down things went in the years after his death. If only America could have kept on in the way he felt them capable!

Book #12
More Than A Carpenter
Another one I was pleasantly surprised by. Much better than I expected. I really shouldn't expect so many of my books to be uninteresting!

Book #8
To Kill A Mockingbird
Well, Wow. I have heard so many people say it's good, but I had never read it, and now that I have I can say it is good.

Book #7
The Renewed Mind
See *this* is why I need a reading challenge! I would probably never have picked this book up to read, but the reading challenge has "A book about Christian Living" and I chose this one and it was really good! I ended up enjoying it (and learning!).

The First Accomplishment of 2016
Turned the traditional black-eye peas and cabbage into a black-eye pea burger and slaw. SO much better than what we've had in years past! Couldn't even tell the burgers had black-eye peas. Usually BEP are a bit strong for my taste. although I do like them, I don't eat them much. This I could see eating often. And it was So Easy! My kind of recipe! ;)
